Strong Body - Vibrant Mind - Soft Heart
Jeri offered a heart-opening class on the morning of my wedding. It was a great opportunity for my friends to come together, share their positive energy, and celebrate my wedding day. Jeri created an all- levels class that was emotional, calming and centering, preparing all of us for whatever the day held. It seemed the class had just started when it was time for savasana. For the many participants, it was one of the best yoga classes they had experienced. For me, it allowed me to feel focused, love, happiness, and excitement for the day ahead. I am forever grateful to Jeri for starting my wedding day out on a positive note.

I need to tell you that I am amazed at how Yoga has changed my life. I have had insomnia my entire life and for the past 10 years have had to rely on medication to sleep and then only 4-5 hours. Since I started my Yoga practice I sleep 8-10 hours a night without any sleep aids whatsoever. I also had major neuro surgery several years ago and had alot of difficulty with my balance, that too has improved immensely. I am so grateful to the Yoga practitoners at School Street! - Bunny, RN
In all my years of yoga- from Boulder, to Boston and studio spaces in between- it is by far the nicest space I have practiced in. You’ve created a true sanctuary and I felt such a great sense of peace. I look forward to many more classes. - Lia
Western society is now more aware of and accepting of the ancient understanding of the mind-body connection and the need for wholeness and balance to achieve health, both mental and physical. Many are drawn to yoga because it is based on these principles; it does not promote mindless exercise, but mindful living, in which the spiritual is not separated from the temporal. Susan introduced me to the many benefits of yoga and remains an ideal instructor whose positive energy radiates throughout the entire class, establishing a challenging yet supportive environment in which all participants grow. Now that she has joined with Jeri at School Street, the studio has found an ideal home, filled with natural light and air. This formerly vacant space has been transformed and offers us the opportunity to transform ourselves as well: in meditation and asana we may seek the sacred within and, by opening our hearts, bring the sacred with us into the world. - Sara
Three years ago I decided to seriously practice yoga. I just turned 50, not to mention I had gained weight. My thought was can I do it? I’m no longer thin and flexible. I made the commitment and went to my first class. I remember Jeri saying that the yoga positions were about where we were as an individual, not where someone else was at. I remember feeling inept as I tried to do the positions and thinking I’ll never be able to do a side plank. Three years later: Yoga has given me incredible strength, both physically and emotionally. My core is much stronger and I can build on each pose. I am much more flexible and extremely confident that I can do any pose I set my mind on. Yoga is about the person and where you are at each time you do a pose, not someone else. I cannot imagine living life without it. And yes I can even do side plank!

A letter from one of our neighbors.
Please accept my sincerest welcome to School Street. I've been a resident here for twenty years and I love the energy you bring to the street. It is wonderful how you've transformed the Christian Science building into a functional energy center shimmering with loving heart and gentle harmonics whereas before it had been a long-neglected shell devoid of echoes and footfalls and joy. Thank you for restoring its life...
May your Studio shelter much tranquility, balance, and many portraits of self-actualization. Success and serenity to you both...
Yours sincerely,
Brian
When I began taking yoga classes more than two years ago, I had no experience with yoga of any kind. I remember watching the instructor and thinking to myself “my body will never do that; I’m too old, too heavy, and too out of shape,” but I kept going to class and hung onto my sense of humor about what I thought I could and couldn’t do. Over time I began to understand the instructions I was given and could, in my rudimentary way, get my body to respond to those instructions. At the end of the first year, I realized I felt more trusting of my body and more dedicated to my practice and found myself looking forward to class and getting on my mat. In the past couple of years my body has become stronger, more flexible and more dependable than ever. I have more faith in what my body is capable of doing and work hard to keep my practice fresh and interesting. I enjoy challenging my body with new poses as well as spending time working on the foundations of the first poses taught to me. Each time on the mat is new and fun and exciting and very hard work. I can’t imagine living without the spirituality and physicality that I get from my yoga practice. Yoga will be a life-long journey for me. - Jackie, career woman, mom of 2 grown daughters.
I just wanted to say that my daughter and I attended our first session with School Street Yoga last evening, we had a wonderful time. You have a beautiful facility and great people skills as we felt
at home when we arrived. Susan and Jeri did a great job of making my daughter and I feel comfortable being in a new environment. Thank you so much, Bill, student from Pittsfield,
